"I booked this weekend on sheer impulse and then bugged poor Molly with loads of questions that she fielded with way too much patience and kindness, always responding promptly and thoroughly. Check-in directions and greeting were amazing. The glamping site and property are indescribably beautiful (even with all the pics I'll attempt to attach) and really must be experienced.
I went with two teenage sons and our dog. It was pure bliss being there, surrounded by gorgeous hills and a creek running by, lulling us to sleep. Yet five-star-hotel comfy beds and bedding. A killer shower. Wood delivered for our fire pit. A great grill on which I made better-than-average (according to my kids, who are tough critics) meals.
Our dog was in heaven, running in and around the creek and just watching sunrises and sunsets from our deck as we fully relaxed. My boys were content, lazing on the bridge or in the creek. It was a perfect family getaway, and I love the idea of supporting such a beautiful family business venture. Molly and Tim have spared no detail, customizing the glamp site with decor and comforts that make it all feel like home.
I celebrated a birthday here that I will never forget. There aren't enough rating stars to say how much we loved it. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Molly and Tim!" - Phoebe Charlottesville, VA

"My husband and I had the most awesome experience Glamping at Tim & Molly's retreat. They went above and beyond our expectations. We are avid tent campers but needed to get away to relax and rejuvenate and this retreat was the perfect get away. We never left once we got there. We will definitely be back in the Spring and look forward to making even more memories at Into the Wild Retreat." - Marlene & Tony

"This was our first glamping trip and it was to celebrate Josh's birthday! We loved every minute of it and we didn't leave once we arrived. We walked around the property, caught crawdads in the creek, and explored. We also did the "Starry Skies & Fireflies" add on adventure our first night here and it was breathtaking! We are already looking to book our next stay." - Megan & Josh Bakersville, NC

"We had a wonderful visit being "in the wild", yet having a very comfortable and luxurious camping experience. The owners have thought of everything to make the stay enjoyable and relaxing. From the 5 star sleeping arrangements, accessible bathrooms, to the babbling stream nearby. Sounds of the nocturnal animals and no cell service made it truly a tranquil getaway where you can actually get away from it all. We will definitely go again! - Erinn

"Life can come at you with an overwhelming sense of endless responsibilities to family, work, and just everyday life. I had almost forgotten how important it can be to hit reset or pause, even if for just a day, to face life's challenges with a recharged perspective. Love the small oasis you've created to help folks like me to slow down and enjoy the small things that can often go unnoticed. The pure joy of a little dog on an adventure with her human "pack", REALLY listening to my precious daughter's dreams and passions. I love the retreat and the obvious thought you've put into creating something you're passionate about sharing. We'll be back!" - Candace & Sarah

"We are so thankful for this beautiful peaceful place! We fished in the stream and we ended up sitting down and letting the water flow over us. We have felt so childlike and relaxed being here! It poured rain all night and we just cozied up and read our books. Thank you Molly & Tim! - Jake and Katie

"My husband and I are in the process of building a home and needed a getaway. We miss camping so much and have not been able to do it due to my husband's back injury. Molly & Tim's place allowed us to have our glamping experience. They were so friendly and kind to help and assist with any of our needs. Thank you both for making your dream THIS reality!! The calm, quiet, and peaceful beauty does allow for a reset and rejuvenation. We even stayed an extra night! Yes - the bed sleeps heavenly and we appreciate the other amenities."

                                 - Alexa & Earl

"What a wonderful place to stay. The location was just beautiful. The space is clean and they've thought of everything you'd need to spend time "unplugging". We will definitely be back in the future." - Joe & Jenna

"What a wonderful place to spend time as a family. It was great to unplug and to soak up the beauty. It was great to watch the boys run wild and free. Watching them run through the fields and swim in the creek was so much fun. This is a beautiful place and we cannot wait to return." - Audrey, Scott, & Gunnar

"Our favorite moment of our stay was meeting Molly, Tim, and Sawyer. They made us feel like family. We enjoyed hiking / riding our bike up the hill, walking the creek, the campfire pit and grilling at night. We recommend turning off all of the lights at night to get a spectacular view of the nighttime sky and stars. We appreciated the little touches too; the coffee bar, blankets, comfortable bed, sheets, and firewood stocked on our deck. Our Happy Anniversary banner was extra special. We recommend the Virginia Creeper Trail, exploring the town of West Jefferson, The Tavern restaurant, and simply walking around the farm at the retreat." -

Reid & Terry Lynchburg, VA

"Most wonderful glamping experience! I spent a long weekend here with my 3 teenagers and had the BEST time! The property is stunning, the river is amazing and filled with millions of beautiful rocks, the tents are dreamy and owners thought of every little detail (the linens and down comforters and blankets..WOW) and the owners are salt of the earth and so responsive to all my texts and questions. My kids had a blast walking through the river, skipping rocks and roasting marshmallows. We rented ATV’s at Doe Mtn, kayaked the New River and biked the Virginia Creeper Trail. Into The Wild Retreat gave us an opportunity to spend quality time together with no phones or tvs. It was a trip we will never forget And we cannot wait to come back. Thanks for the memories Molly and Tim❤️ - Getz Family

"What a fantastic way to ring in the New Year. We loved having a "glampfire", feasting on steaks, listening to the creek babble all night long, and breathing in the natural beauty this place exudes. We can't wait to return with our kids and see what new improvements will be made. The king tent certainly made us feel like royalty. Molly and Tim have created a special place to enjoy all of the awesome serenity that can be had here. We refreshed, rejuvenated, and recharged!"

- Matt & Bridget (Hampton, VA)

"Our anniversary getaway could not have been spent at a better location. Everything was wonderful from the beautiful tent, the comfortable bed, to the peaceful sound of the creek. It made it easy to relax and fall asleep. The deck was an awesome place for meals and to just spend time together enjoying each other around the fire. Thank you Tim & Molly for a wonderful experience. We look forward to coming back! - Jimmy & Rachel Banner Elk, NC

"What a great first experience Glamping! We enjoyed cooking all of our meals over the fire and catching up on life while listening to the creek. We had a great day mountain biking at Pond Mountain Gamelands. There was a crazy storm all night but we were kept dry & safe. Molly & Tim were great hosts and super helpful. We will be back! - Robert & Casey

" We just left yesterday and already miss it. If you are looking for a getaway to relax, decompress, and enjoy this is it. Not that you are forced to, they have cell service, and a LOT of things to go and do are located within a 30-45 min drive, but because once here you will want to. It is a beautiful setting with meadows, pastures, trees, flowers, wildlife, and a stream, a wonderful sound to sleep to stream. The accommodations are wonderful, great beds, quality linens, nice chairs. The tents have wood stoves if needed for cool nights, stay dry in rain, the decks are partially covered to provide some shade. Tim and Molly have thought of everything and are excellent hosts. We really enjoyed our stay and will return." - Bryan & Janet Greensboro, NC

"I have a hard time expressing in words how much I enjoyed being at Into the Wild Retreat! It was peaceful, restful, and freeing. I was able to unclutter my brain and get back to a calming state.

Molly and Tim have created a slice of heaven here. Watching the sunset on the knoll and having a calf come close to us was amazing. The views are breathtaking no matter your location. The sound of the creek as I slept helped me sleep until 10am. I haven’t been able to do that since I had children 20 years ago! My dog had an amazing time playing in the creek. She romped around and became a puppy again. I can not wait to come back!"

"I came to this place with my family as a last minute trip before the school year starts. My sister and I shared a tent while our parents are stayed in the other one. This place is really cool and I love the smell of wood. This morning I woke up to the sounds of birds and made breakfast with my family. We had english muffins, eggs, and fruit. I loved hearing the sounds of wildlife and exploring the creek. This was a great way to end the summer before I go back to school to start the 11th grade." - Leah

"What an amazing place to enjoy the many things nature has to offer. My husband, son, and I truly enjoyed our stay here. It was so nice to escape the hustle and bustle of the daily grind of life. The solitude, serenity, and peacefulness was just what the doctor ordered. We loved the sound of the babbling brook just below our campsite and the beautiful wildflowers growing along the banks. There was also the pleasure of watching a doe and her twins feeding in the grassy field. A perfect place to escape has been created at Into the Wild Retreat! - The Gordon Family

"We arrived at night and didn't know what to expect walking up in the dark. The tent, tiki torches, and fire pit were all great to sit around and look over the water. Molly has thought of everything we may have needed while staying. We will most definitely be back!" - Jake

"Into the wild retreat has been amazing! More than we could have expected. The owners, tim & Molly,  have thought of everything...from the welcome basket on our bed, to a book to give you all of the info you need to know inside and out of the tent. we came with friends and their son and the boys had a blast playing in the creek, cooking s'mores, seeing the cattle, fishing, and exploring. The adults did pretty much the same thing and we cooked both of our meals as well in the evenings. We can't wait to come back again to relax and enjoy the most amazing views. Best Labor Day weekend in a very long time! Tim & Molly have outdone themselves here!" - The English family Charlotte, NC

"It is difficult in the world as it is today to find those moments of joy that make life worthwhile. But when one finds those moments, one must share them. That is what this review is all about. Into the Wild Retreat is a place where joy can be found — whether it is breathing in the trees, hills, pastures, birds, water ...  or noticing with surprise the lack of any power lines or telephone poles in the circling view.
Simply being quiet to listen with one's heart to the sounds of nature provided here is joy. Bundling these experiences together with luxury camping is unbelievable and just writing these words made me laugh with joy at the memories of it. Into the Wild Retreat offers joy that not only makes life worthwhile, but makes it precious." - Catherine Elliott
